Currently you are unable to apply directly for funding. We hope to change that one day and have an application on our site. However, Before Their Time finds families in need through various means. Although we do not disclose or describe our process to avoid scams and prevent fraud, some of the means are through obituaries and notifications from local community leaders.

While there are several charities dedicated to drug prevention, treatment and recovery, unfortunately over 100,000 people still died of drug overdoses in 2021. Before Their Time is the ONLY nonprofit organization dedicated to the families left behind by such tragedies.
Currently 100% of all donations go to our mission of helping families. All of our board members and staff are volunteers and NOBODY RECEIVES A SALARY OR BONUSES.
As already stated, unlock most nonprofits, none of our board members are paid. We do not have a high salary CEO or any paid employees. We also do not spend money on fundraising campaigns. Some charities spend up to 85% of their donations on raising donations through direct mailings and phone calls, we however do not! This ensures that every dollar donated goes where it is needed, to families struggling after a horrific loss.
Before Their Time does not offer merchandise or any other tangible items in exchange for donations. We feel that would be counterproductive, for example the money to buy the merchandise can go to help families in need. However, you can make a donation in honor of a loved one by dedicating a tree or adopting a bench.
Before Their Time has helped pay for over 130 funerals to date, and helped those families who wanted, obtain mental health therapy. Both locally and nationally, we have given $130,000 dollars to devastated families.
We want to continue to develop our organization in the upcoming year. We would like the word about us to spread nationally, so we will be able to help as many families as possible.
With funeral costs alone averaging $8000 and over 100,000 overdose deaths in the U.S., over $800,000,000 was spent last year on funerals for loved ones gone before their time. While our goal is to pay for every funeral for every tragic life lost, we realize that is not realistic. Please donate now and help us make the largest impact possible!
